Integrated platform for in-person payments
Payment security provider Bluefin has teamed with Visa to launch an integrated card-present solution designed to streamline in-person transaction acceptance for merchants and software vendors.
The platform merges Bluefin's PCI-validated point-to-point encryption technology with Visa Acceptance Solutions, creating what the companies describe as a unified deployment for secure payment acceptance.
Rather than deploying separate tools for acceptance, security, and terminal operations, the offering consolidates those functions into a single architecture.
What the solution includes
The collaboration bundles several components that previously required separate integrations:
- Payment acceptance and processing via Visa
- PCI-validated point-to-point encryption from Bluefin
- Tokenisation services
- Device lifecycle management
- Secure decryption and certified payment applications
- Terminal integration through Bluefin's P2PE Manager
The platform has initially launched with certified Ingenico Lane series point-of-sale devices, with plans to extend support to additional certified terminal ecosystems.
Target markets and use cases
The offering targets enterprise-scale deployments across multiple verticals, including retail, hospitality, petroleum stations, healthcare facilities, and higher education institutions.
Bluefin founder and chief strategy officer Ruston Miles said the shift reflects changing buyer priorities.
Enterprise organisations are no longer looking for individual payment technologies — they're looking for infrastructure that enables secure commerce across every channel.
Miles added that the partnership aims to deliver secure payment acceptance as an integrated platform rather than a collection of independent components, helping organisations simplify deployment and reduce complexity.
Distribution and availability
The solution will be distributed through Visa Acceptance Solutions and Visa's global sales and partner networks.
Merchants and software providers can access the platform through those channels, with support for enterprise payment infrastructure built into the core architecture.
