GoTyme Bank Brings Apple Pay to 10 Million Customers in the Philippines

GoTyme Rolls Out Apple Pay

Card issuing platform Paymentology announced it has enabled Apple Pay for GoTyme Bank, making the digital lender one of the first Philippine issuers to support the contactless payment service.

The rollout extends Apple Pay to all ten million GoTyme customers, who can now add their debit cards to Apple Wallet and use them for tap-to-pay transactions in stores, within apps, and on websites that accept Apple Pay.

Security Through Tokenisation

Apple Pay uses tokenisation to protect card data. Card numbers are never stored on the device or shared with merchants during a transaction.

Instead, each payment relies on a unique Device Account Number that must be authenticated through Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode before completing.

Executive Perspectives

GoTyme Bank president and CEO Nate Clark emphasised the bank's focus on convenience and security.

At GoTyme Bank, we're constantly looking for ways to make banking simpler, safer and more rewarding for our customers. Bringing Apple Pay to GoTyme Bank customers in the Philippines gives them an easy and secure way to pay wherever they shop while continuing to earn rewards points on all their transactions. This is another step in our commitment to making everyday banking more beautiful and convenient for our customers.

Minh-Ha Truong, who leads APAC growth at Paymentology, highlighted the role of modern processing infrastructure.

As a long-standing partner to GoTyme, we're proud to support another significant milestone in its growth journey. Bringing Apple Pay to market demonstrates how modern, cloud-native issuer processing enables digital banks to rapidly deliver innovative payment experiences while maintaining the highest standards of security, scalability and performance. Together, we're helping shape the future of digital payments in the Philippines.

Philippine Digital Payments Surge

The launch arrives as digital payment adoption accelerates across the Philippines. According to data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas cited by Paymentology, digital payments now represent more than half of all retail payment transactions in the country.

Paymentology supports fintechs, digital banks, and financial institutions in launching and scaling card programmes. The firm raised $175m in May to fund its expansion.
