Ingenico Secures €150M to Accelerate Cloud Payments and Product Expansion

PIMCO-Led Funding Round Restructures Capital Base

Payment acceptance provider Ingenico has secured €150M ($173.67M) through a capital restructuring led by global investment firm PIMCO and a consortium of institutional investors.

The proceeds will finance product development and customer service enhancements as the company transitions toward cloud-based payment infrastructure under newly appointed CEO Floris de Kort.

Strategic Priorities Under New Leadership

De Kort, who recently took the helm at Ingenico, framed the investment as fuel for accelerated execution on core priorities.

This agreement gives Ingenico the ability to move faster on the priorities that matter most: building great products, simplifying payment operations and delivering for our customers and partners. With a strong balance sheet and new capital in place, we can execute better and invest in the areas that will define our next phase.

The CEO expressed confidence in the company's trajectory, adding that Ingenico now has the financial foundation and team capabilities to deliver on its next growth phase.

Customer Excellence Expansion Across Three Continents

Ingenico is opening new offices in London, San Francisco, and Istanbul as part of an expanded Customer Excellence initiative.

These facilities will house account managers, solutions engineers, and support teams dedicated to working directly with the company's merchant, banking, acquirer, and fintech partners.

The expansion reflects Ingenico's push to strengthen client relationships and service delivery across its global footprint of more than 3,000 employees in 32 countries.

AXIUM Device Line Growth Targets Retail and Fintech

The funding will also support expansion of Ingenico's AXIUM line of Android-based point-of-sale terminals.

The device range serves retailers, banks, acquirers, and fintech platforms, with built-in support for future Android operating system upgrades while units remain deployed in the field.

This upgrade capability aims to extend device lifecycles and reduce replacement costs for merchants and payment service providers.

Recent Stablecoin Partnership Extends Payment Options

Earlier this year, Ingenico partnered with WalletConnect Pay to enable stablecoin transactions at checkout.

The integration allows shoppers to pay with USDC on blockchain networks including Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Ethereum Mainnet, and other EVM-compatible chains, with additional networks planned.

The move positions Ingenico to support merchants seeking to accept digital asset payments alongside traditional card and account-based methods.
