Stablecoin integration pilot launches

ACI Worldwide and Circle Internet Group are testing how USDC stablecoin settlement could work within Latin America's banking and payment systems.

The project pairs ACI Connetic, a cloud-native payments orchestration platform, with Circle's regulated USDC infrastructure to explore practical integration scenarios.

Colombia's instant payments network as testbed

Colombia is the initial testing ground for the initiative. ACI Worldwide built the central infrastructure behind Bre-B, the country's interoperable instant-payments ecosystem that enables real-time, account-to-account transfers nationwide.

The companies will examine how USDC could function alongside this existing infrastructure to create a more integrated, multi-rail payments environment.

Bridging traditional and digital payment rails

The conversation around stablecoins is moving from possibility to practicality. Financial institutions want to understand how digital asset settlement can fit into the infrastructure and operating models they already trust,

said Craig Ramsey, ACI Worldwide's global head of account-to-account payments.

Through ACI Connetic, we're demonstrating a practical approach to integrating regulated stablecoins into existing payment workflows,

he added.

Platform designed for multiple settlement models

ACI Connetic brings together traditional payment methods, card transactions, and digital assets on a unified cloud-native platform, aiming to simplify how banks add new payment capabilities.

While the collaboration uses USDC and Circle's systems, the platform is built to accommodate various payment networks, digital-asset providers, and future settlement models through a single integration point.

Connecting legacy and digital infrastructure

The pilot gives financial institutions a way to evaluate stablecoin settlement operating in tandem with their current payments infrastructure.

By working with ACI Worldwide, we're creating a practical path for institutions to explore how USDC can fit into established payment environments, helping bridge traditional financial infrastructure with the growing digital economy,

said Kash Razzaghi, Circle's chief commercial officer.
