Stablecoin Remittances Go Live

Immigrant-focused mobile bank Majority has rolled out cross-border stablecoin payments targeting Latin America, using regulated infrastructure from zerohash.

Eligible US-based members can now transfer funds to relatives across Latin America through the Majority app. Senders initiate transactions in US dollars, while recipients receive USDC — a dollar-pegged stablecoin — directly into their Majority Global Wallet.

The service requires both sender and recipient to hold Majority accounts.

How the Infrastructure Works

zerohash handles the conversion process and fund delivery behind the scenes. Majority has embedded zerohash's regulated onchain infrastructure and compliance systems into its platform to power the feature.

The arrangement lets remittances bypass traditional banking hours, enabling transfers any day of the week.

What Executives Are Saying

Our members support family back home every week, and that shouldn't depend on bank hours. With zerohash, eligible members in the US can now send money to family in Latin America any day of the week, right from the Majority app. Senders pay in dollars, and their family receives USDC, a dollar-backed stablecoin, in their Majority Global Wallet.

Anders Rasmussen, product director at Majority, emphasised the convenience factor for immigrant communities.

Adam Tesan, chief revenue officer at zerohash, commented: "Majority deeply understands the needs of its members, and we're proud to provide the onchain infrastructure that lets them send stablecoin payouts to Latin America, any day of the week."

zerohash European Expansion

Earlier in 2025, zerohash's European arm secured an Electronic Money Institution licence from De Nederlandsche Bank, the Dutch central bank.

The EMI licence allows zerohash europe to offer stablecoin payment services across the entire European Economic Area.
