How to Actually Stop a Recurring Card Payment
How do you actually stop a recurring card payment? Cancel with the company charging you and keep the confirmation, revoke authorisation in the app store or PayPal, and escalate to your bank or card issuer if the charges continue.
Transkripcija
So how do you actually stop a reoccurring card payment?
First, cancel a subscription directly with the company that is charging you. And make sure to keep confirmation. You may need it later.
If you subscribe through an app, you may need to cancel through your Apple or Google account. If you use PayPal or another app like that, make sure to revoke authorization for reoccurring charges.
If the company continues to charge you or refuses to cancel the subscription, you should contact your bank or card issuer. If you use PayPal, contact them. They may be able to stop reoccurring charges and they may be able to help you dispute charges that you didn't authorize.
But remember, stopping the payment doesn't necessarily cancel a contract or money that you may owe. So that's something you need to sort out with the company itself.

Apie šį epizodą
Start at the source: cancel the subscription directly with the company charging you, and keep the confirmation — you may need it later. Where the subscription was taken out through an app, the cancellation may have to happen in your Apple or Google account instead, and with PayPal or similar you revoke the authorisation for recurring charges.
If the company keeps charging you or refuses to cancel, escalate. Your bank or card issuer — or PayPal, if that is how the payment runs — may be able to stop the recurring charges, and can help dispute charges you never authorised.
One thing worth being clear about: stopping the payment does not necessarily cancel the contract or clear money you may still owe. That part has to be settled with the company itself, whatever the payment does.
