Why Is My Card Payment Still Pending?
Why is a card payment still pending when your balance has already dropped? Usually it's a hold: the amount has been set aside, but the business hasn't collected it yet — and it still reduces your available balance.

Why is my card payment still pending?
Your card payment says pending, but you already have less money available in your overall balance. Usually the amount has been set aside, but the business hasn't collected it. It's what's called a hold.
For example, a car rental company may reserve a deposit on your card in addition to the amount that you spend to rent the car. Even though the charge isn't completed, it still reduces your available balance.
Now remember, if the hold is on your account longer than you expected, or the charge is completed without being expected, make sure to contact the company and your card issuer or bank as soon as possible.

Apie šį epizodą
A payment marked pending while your available balance has already dropped looks like a contradiction, but it usually isn't. In most cases the amount has been set aside on your card, and the business simply hasn't collected it yet. That is what's called a hold.
Holds are common wherever the final amount isn't known up front. A car rental company, for example, may reserve a deposit on your card on top of the cost of the rental itself. The charge isn't complete, but the money it covers is no longer available to spend.
Most holds resolve on their own, either becoming the final charge or dropping away. If one stays on your account longer than you expected, or a charge completes that you weren't expecting, contact the company and your card issuer or bank as soon as possible.
