BMO Launches Zogo in Canada

The eighth-largest bank in North America has teamed up with financial education platform Zogo to roll out an interactive learning experience for eligible Canadian students. The partnership, announced this week, marks Zogo's first entry into the Canadian market.

The mobile app targets young adults between 18 and 24, helping them build foundational money management skills through practical lessons and quizzes. Topics covered include budgeting, saving, credit, and general money management — all presented in a gamified format that rewards users as they progress.

How the Platform Works

BMO clients access the learning modules through Zogo's mobile app. As users complete financial lessons and quizzes, they earn points that can be redeemed for rewards. The structure is designed to make financial education engaging while teaching skills that students can apply immediately in their daily lives.

Bringing this experience to Canada alongside BMO makes this partnership especially meaningful for us, Zogo President Ben Brooks said. > BMO's commitment to helping the next generation make financial progress is evident in the care its team has put into this launch. Together, we're making financial education more accessible, engaging and rewarding for Canadian students, with practical skills they can carry well beyond the classroom.

Part of Broader Literacy Push

The Zogo launch fits into BMO's wider strategy to improve financial literacy across all age groups. The banking group recently formed a strategic partnership with MoneyPrep, which provides free financial literacy lessons and tools for elementary school teachers and their students.

BMO has become the first financial institution to bring Zogo to Canada. The bank views the collaboration as an extension of its support for financial education from childhood through adulthood.

Building financial knowledge and confidence early can help establish the foundation for lifelong financial well-being and real financial progress, said Sumit Sarkar, Head of Everyday Banking Products for BMO. > With Zogo, BMO is making financial education more engaging, accessible, and relevant for young Canadians, empowering them to navigate important financial decisions at every stage of life.

BMO Financial Group holds $1.5 trillion in total assets as of July 2026 and serves customers across Canada, the US, and select international markets. Beyond banking, wealth management, and investment services, the firm offers several digital tools for financial education and wellness:

  • BMO SmartProgress, an online financial education platform
