Gate Launches Visa-Backed Crypto Card in 40+ Markets

Crypto-to-Fiat at Checkout

Digital asset exchange Gate has partnered with Visa to launch a payment card that lets users spend their cryptocurrency holdings in more than 40 countries worldwide.

The card connects to Gate account balances and automatically converts digital assets into fiat currency when users pay at online or physical retail locations.

Users can request and manage the card entirely through Gate's mobile app, funding purchases ranging from groceries and restaurant bills to travel expenses.

Visa Network Integration

The partnership plugs Gate's platform into Visa's global acceptance infrastructure, which spans more than 175 million merchant locations across over 200 countries and territories.

Visa currently backs upwards of 160 stablecoin-linked card programs around the world, a segment where transaction volumes have surged nearly 200% year-on-year.

This partnership with Visa connects the digital asset accounts Gate users already know with a broad range of commercial scenarios, making digital asset payments more intuitive and better aligned with everyday needs, Gate founder and CEO Dr. Han said.

As the service launches across more than 40 countries and territories, we aim to give users greater flexibility in how they use their assets and further expand the practical use of digital assets in global commerce, he added.

Gate Money Feature Debut

The card rollout arrives alongside Gate Money, a new in-app tool that brings together bank accounts, payment functions, fiat currencies, digital assets, stocks, exchange-traded funds, and gold in a single interface.

Founded in 2013, Gate now serves more than 61 million users globally.

The platform facilitates trading across over 5,300 digital tokens, 12,800 equities, and traditional financial markets including commodities, foreign exchange, indices, and precious metals.
