Embedded Wallet Infrastructure Goes Live
Rain has introduced embedded stablecoin wallets that enable its partners to provide native, non-custodial accounts directly within their own platforms.
The wallets integrate with Rain's existing infrastructure, allowing end users to receive, hold, spend, and transfer stablecoins from a single interface. Custodial wallet options and features that let users earn yields on stablecoin holdings are slated for release before the close of 2026, according to the company.
Card and Service Integration
Wallet balances can be used to fund Rain-issued payment cards, which the company says work at 175 million merchant locations globally. The wallet layer also connects with Rain's broader suite of services, including virtual accounts, on-ramps, off-ramps, rewards programs, and payout capabilities.
When a company builds with stablecoins, the first thing its users need is a place to hold them, said Pooja Shah, Rain's head of product.
Rain wallets are that place. Because they are integrated into the broader Rain stack, every balance is ready to use the moment it arrives. Partners can get all of it from Rain, or keep the wallet they have and plug it into everything else we run.
Blockchain and Asset Support
The non-custodial wallets support 12 blockchain networks: Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, BNB Smart Chain, Celo, Ethereum, Monad, Plasma, Optimism, Polygon, Solana, and ZKsync.
Users can hold USDC, USDT, and other stablecoins as well as additional crypto assets across these networks, though Rain notes that functionality may differ depending on the blockchain. Access to the wallets relies on passkeys or one-time codes sent via email or phone rather than traditional seed phrases.
Availability and Product Roadmap
Non-custodial Rain wallets are currently available to the company's partners. Custodial wallet options and additional stablecoin earning features are expected to launch by the end of 2026.
The platform's cards and other offerings also work with third-party wallet infrastructure that partners may already have in place, allowing users to access Rain services without adopting a Rain wallet if they prefer.
Recent Expansions and Alliances
Rain is a Visa and Mastercard Principal Member. Last month, the company expanded its global money movement platform to support payouts to more than 80 countries in 50 currencies, with plans to reach 95 countries and over 60 currencies by year-end.
The stablecoin payments platform has also formed the Agentic Payments Alliance (APA), a coalition aimed at shaping standards for agent-driven commerce. Founding members include Visa, Mastercard, Fiserv, Circle, Solana, and Remitly.
In addition, Rain has filed an application with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) this month to establish a national trust bank headquartered in New York.
