Funding Structure and Lender Syndicate
Triple Point joins a syndicate that already includes NatWest Group, Hampshire Trust Bank, Shawbrook Bank, Paragon Bank, and Lloyds. The deal, disclosed on 7 October 2026, brings the total facility to £400 million. Early equity backer Quilam Capital retains a meaningful stake in the business.
Perch Group has grown from a regional startup launched in 2016 into an organisation employing more than 500 people, serving over one million customers, and managing assets exceeding £1 billion. The firm operates five subsidiaries covering the full credit management value chain: debt purchaser Perch Capital, customer engagement specialist ACI UK, field services provider Verify, SRA-regulated law firm TM Legal, and outsourced contact centre business Perch Connect.
Management Commentary
Ellis Diamanti, head of specialty finance at Triple Point, called Perch "a genuine UK growth story, built outside London into one of the country's leading credit management platforms with a ten-year track record." He said the firm is excited to back the company's next growth phase.
Mark Pickup, chief financial officer at Perch Group, described the expanded funding package as providing "a strong foundation for future growth as we continue investing in technology and delivering outstanding customer outcomes." Neither party disclosed loan terms, pricing, or specific technology initiatives the capital will support.
Regulatory and Market Backdrop
UK debt purchasing and credit management have drawn substantial institutional capital in recent years, driven by predictable portfolio cash flows and the regulatory framework established by the FCA. The regulator's Consumer Duty rules—fully effective for new products in 2023 and extended to closed books in 2024—impose stricter obligations on firms managing customers in financial difficulty.
Perch's vertically integrated model, which brings legal, field, and contact centre operations under one roof, addresses that compliance environment by reducing reliance on external agents and centralising conduct risk management. Owning the entire customer journey gives the firm tighter control over outcomes and regulatory exposure.
Triple Point Strategy and Competitive Positioning
For Triple Point, the facility extends a specialty finance book that sits alongside clean energy, social housing, and ventures strategies within a roughly £2.5 billion under-management platform. Originating credit in the consumer debt purchasing space demands deep sector expertise to assess portfolio quality, and the transaction signals Triple Point's ambition to compete with established credit fund managers in this segment of private markets.
The breadth of the senior syndicate—combining high-street banks and specialist challengers—reflects the maturity Perch has achieved as a borrower and the confidence multiple regulated institutions place in its underwriting and collections infrastructure.
What Comes Next
Key indicators to watch include the speed at which Perch deploys the expanded facility into new portfolio acquisitions and the scope of the technology investments the capital enables. Both factors will determine whether the group can sustain asset growth beyond the £1 billion threshold and maintain its competitive edge in a crowded market.
Fieldfisher LLP acted as legal adviser to Perch Group. Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised Triple Point, and Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP advised the senior lending syndicate.
