Noah to Supply On-Chain Infrastructure

The money transfer giant has partnered with stablecoin infrastructure provider Noah to enable international transfers using USDPT, Western Union's proprietary dollar-pegged digital asset.

Noah will provide the blockchain infrastructure underpinning Receiver Redirect, a new service designed to facilitate global remittances in stablecoin form. The arrangement covers pre-funding logistics, currency conversion, and distribution of USDPT across Western Union's vast network.

Service Spans 60 Currencies and 500,000 Locations

Receiver Redirect will operate across more than 200 countries and territories, supporting transfers involving over 60 different currencies. Senders can initiate transactions through Western Union's established agent network of more than 500,000 retail locations worldwide.

Recipients will collect USDPT into a Western Union wallet and can hold the stablecoin using the company's Stablecard, a product unveiled in August 2026. This setup creates a direct link between traditional money transfer channels and digital asset wallets.

Noah Handles Licensing and Regulatory Compliance

Beyond providing blockchain rails, Noah will manage licensing requirements and help Western Union navigate local regulatory frameworks in each jurisdiction where the service launches.

This is a watershed moment for the future of stablecoin and sends a real signal the market has shifted. We're proud to provide the banking infrastructure behind Receiver Redirect, and to power the next era of international remittances for Western Union.

Shah Ramezani, Noah's founder and CEO, emphasised the partnership's significance for the stablecoin sector.

Noah's Recent Funding Round

The agreement follows Noah's announcement earlier this month that it had closed a $38M funding round aimed at expanding its stablecoin-based cross-border payment capabilities.

The capital raise positions Noah to scale its infrastructure services as demand for digital asset settlement grows among established financial institutions.

Flexibility Driving Digital Asset Adoption

Malcolm Clarke, Western Union's global head of digital assets, highlighted evolving customer preferences around receiving and using money.

This new capability is a global first, taking a Western Union money transfer and delivering it directly into the customers' stablecard wallet in USDPT stablecoin, creating a seamless connection between our global money movement network and our digital asset ecosystem.

USDPT was launched earlier this year and is issued by Anchorage Digital Bank on the Solana blockchain. The stablecoin is now integrated into Western Union's broader strategy to offer customers alternative ways to hold and transact value across borders.
