Business accounts for marketplaces and digital platforms
Whether your revenue comes from listing fees, subscriptions or invoices for platform services, you need to know who has paid. A growing number of users should not mean a growing pile of unidentified transfers.
Demivolt helps marketplace operators and digital platforms manage their own business revenue and expenses through business payment accounts, dedicated IBANs and transfer services.
Match receipts to the people or businesses paying you
Ask each customer to quote a clear invoice reference so your team can reconcile platform service fees. Funds arrive in your company account. You retain your own customer and invoice records, rather than treating the payment reference as a substitute for your billing system.
Be clear about whose money you are handling
Your platform's service income is different from money collected from buyers and owed to sellers. Set out both flows clearly before choosing an account structure. The business account services described here focus on your company's own operations; collecting and distributing funds for other users requires a separate assessment.
Example: collecting fees from business users
A B2B directory could invoice businesses for annual listings and ask each customer to quote the invoice number as the payment reference. Finance can identify the customer when a transfer arrives, allocate the receipt against the listing invoice and use the operating account to pay hosting and support suppliers.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Your company can receive payments for its own services through supported account routes. You still manage the invoices and subscription records in your billing system; receiving a transfer does not itself create or renew a subscription.
That needs a separate review, not just a standard business account application. Explain who pays, who owns the funds, who receives them and how long they are held. Demivolt can then assess whether the proposed flow can be supported.
You still need to allocate the total against the relevant invoices. Ask for remittance details where the intended allocation is unclear, and check for part-payments rather than marking every open invoice as paid.
