Professional Services

Business accounts for professional services firms

You have delivered the work. Now the client's payment needs matching to the right invoice, the subcontractor needs paying, and someone has to check the account before the next project starts.

Demivolt helps consultancies, advisory firms and other professional services businesses manage their own fees and operating expenses. A dedicated company IBAN, business transfers and role-based account access give your team practical ways to organise those payments.

Make client payments easier to identify

Give clients the account details in your registered company name and a clear invoice reference. Where regular clients make several transfers, a consistent invoice reference can help identify the payer. You can then match each receipt to project invoices, retainers or other fees in your own billing records.

Share account work without sharing every permission

Your finance employee, external accountant and business owner may need different levels of account access. Set permissions around those responsibilities. Use supported euro and international transfers to pay subcontractors and suppliers, with the invoice and payment reference kept together for later review.

Example: reconciling a monthly retainer

A consultancy could receive a retainer into its business account, match it to the client's monthly invoice and pay an overseas research contractor. If the client also pays for a separate project, the finance team would allocate that receipt to the project invoice rather than treating both payments as the same fee.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The dedicated business IBAN is issued for the payment account in your registered company name. Use that same account name on invoices and payment instructions, particularly if clients know you by a different trading name.

Yes. Ask the client to provide the invoice numbers and the amount allocated to each. Match the total received to that breakdown and check for any shortfall or overpayment. Identifying the client does not, by itself, explain how the payment should be allocated.

You can add authorised users and assign role-based permissions. Confirm the appropriate access for your accountant when setting up the account, including whether they need to view activity or manage transactions. Each person should use their own authorised access.

Do not assume so. Your own professional fees and money held for a client are different payment flows. Tell Demivolt who owns the funds and why you would hold them before using the account for that purpose, so the proposed arrangement can be reviewed.

Spend less time untangling routine payments

Tell us how clients pay your firm, where your subcontractors are based and who needs account access. We can discuss an account setup around that work.
