The London-based fintech software provider rolled out two new products this week: a supply chain finance solution integrated with its trade and lending platforms, and an AI repair tool to streamline payment exception handling.

Finastra Launches AI-Powered Payments Tool and Supply Chain Finance Platform

Supply Chain Finance Platform Launched

Financial services software provider Finastra unveiled a new supply chain finance solution designed to help banks deploy working capital programs more quickly and expand their growth opportunities.

The product, called Finastra Supply Chain Finance (SCF), integrates with the company's existing Trade Innovation and Loan IQ platforms through its Nexus API suite. This integration enables banks to deliver a unified set of services spanning trade, lending, and supply chain finance.

The platform handles the entire lifecycle—from acquiring and onboarding buyers and suppliers through to fulfillment, servicing, risk management, and secondary market distribution. It provides straight-through processing capabilities and connects with enterprise resource planning systems and trade ecosystem partners via the Nexus API suite.

Cloud-Native Architecture and Deployment Options

SCF is built on a cloud-native foundation and supports multiple deployment models, ranging from on-premises installations to software-as-a-service arrangements. The solution offers a comprehensive data layer for decision-making and portfolio management.

Banks are looking for ways to bring new working capital solutions to market faster to capture new revenue streams delivered through STP journeys, and lower costs, while addressing operational risks and regulatory complexity, Vinay Mendonca, Finastra's Head of Product for Trade Supply Chain Finance and Corporate Channels, said.

Mendonca added that combining supply chain finance capabilities with the company's Trade Innovation and Loan IQ platforms allows banks to adopt a more integrated approach to working capital management.

Planned Expansion of Financing Capabilities

The platform helps banks accelerate product launches, deliver comprehensive working capital management, automate risk distribution, strengthen risk oversight, and scale operations efficiently through straight-through processing and real-time servicing.

Finastra plans to broaden SCF's functionality to include purchase order finance, pre- to post-shipment finance, inventory finance, distributor finance, and additional working capital products. The release represents the latest investment in the company's Trade Innovation digital trade finance platform and Loan IQ commercial loan management software.

AI-Powered Payment Repair Tool Unveiled

Finastra also introduced a new artificial intelligence capability within its OperatorAssist solution. The feature, called Repair Recommendations, aims to help banks handle growing payment volumes by improving decision-making within existing operational workflows.

The tool is designed to prevent the errors and disruptions that can slow down traditional payment processing. It enables teams to resolve issues more quickly, manage higher transaction volumes with greater efficiency, and improve success rates without adding operational complexity.

Repair Recommendations simplifies complex repair scenarios, identifies payment discrepancies and their root causes, reduces reliance on specialized knowledge, and cuts the time and effort payment operations teams need to manage and resolve exceptions.

Addressing Rising Payment Volumes

The capability allows banks to handle increased payment activity more effectively as real-time cross-border transactions, infrastructure modernisation, and digital commerce continue to drive volume growth.

With Repair Recommendations, we're empowering banks to upgrade their payment operations—reducing resolution times and minimizing errors, Barry Rodrigues, Finastra EVP for Payments, said.

Rodrigues noted that as payment volumes increase, artificial intelligence can deliver immediate value by accelerating repairs, streamlining onboarding processes, and strengthening operational resilience.
