AI Coach Launching for Credit Union Members

Heritage Hub Federal Credit Union has joined forces with San Francisco-based Kiro Money to deploy a branded AI financial tool called the Heritage Hub AI Money Coach. The solution, accessible through the credit union's Financial Literacy page, delivers personalized financial guidance to members around the clock without requiring additional staff or scheduled appointments.

The AI coach is set to launch on August 1 as a complimentary resource for members. Kiro Money CEO Alisha Chowdhury emphasized the value proposition for credit unions, noting that 144.7 million Americans are credit union members served by institutions built on the principle of people helping people rather than quarterly earnings targets.

That's the gap Kiro Money closes, Chowdhury said of the challenge credit unions face in providing one-on-one coaching at scale.

Real-Time Tracking Across Accounts

The AI money coach aggregates data across linked accounts to monitor member finances in real time. The platform tracks multiple data streams simultaneously to provide accurate, contextual responses to both routine and complex financial questions.

The system monitors:

  • Real-time bank account balances
  • Integration data across institutions
  • Historical spending patterns and cash flow
  • Tax records
  • Investment portfolio holdings and performance returns
  • Progress toward financial goals like homeownership, retirement savings, and emergency funds

Addressing Affordability Pressures

Heritage Hub FCU President and CEO Bolaji Ajimotokan explained that persistent affordability challenges facing households influenced the decision to partner with Kiro Money. He noted that housing costs and insurance premiums remain significantly above pre-pandemic levels, even as the rate of increase moderates.

A slower rate of increase is not the same as relief, Ajimotokan said, highlighting questions members face about building buffers for rising insurance costs, timing fixed-rate savings, and budgeting amid shifting fixed expenses.

The credit union launched in October 2025 to serve underbanked African-American and Latino communities in the Houston area. It offers free checking, competitive auto loans, high-interest money market accounts, and tax preparation services, with deposits protected up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.

Kiro Money's Agentic Intelligence Platform

Founded in 2024, Kiro Money operates as an embedded agentic financial intelligence layer for digital platforms. The company demonstrated its technology at FinovateSpring 2026 in San Diego, showcasing how it routes financial queries from individuals to specialized agents.

These agents can answer complex financial questions, offer product recommendations, enable account opening and portfolio adjustments, and identify moments of intent when customers need guidance. The white-label offering deploys securely via API or embedded code and features enterprise-grade security.

Heritage Hub FCU represents Kiro's first credit union partnership, marking the company's entry into the credit union sector with its AI-powered financial guidance technology.
