The fintech platform now lets customers create their own AI agents for automated trading and research, while expanding market hours to include weekends for select equities and ETFs.

Robinhood Launches Custom AI Trading Agents and Weekend Market Access

Custom AI Agents for Trading

The brokerage platform has rolled out a feature allowing customers to create personalised artificial intelligence agents that assist with investment decisions and execution. Robinhood Agents, revealed Tuesday at the company's HOOD Summit 2026 in Houston, enable users to build tools for strategy development, market research, or fully automated trading.

"With safety and security at its core, we're setting the standard for what agentic finance can be," Abhishek Fatehpuria, vice president of product management at Robinhood, said in a news release. "Whether you're an expert or are just getting started with AI, you're at a disadvantage if you're not using Robinhood."

Adoption Metrics

The new offering builds on the company's May launch of agentic trading, which permitted customers to link third-party AI agents to their accounts. Since that initial rollout, more than 15,000 users have established agentic trading accounts, with these automated tools accessing Robinhood's infrastructure nearly 30 million times daily, according to the firm.

Power User Demographics

These capabilities address a specific segment of AI adopters. PYMNTS Intelligence research indicates that power users — consumers leveraging artificial intelligence for 27 or more distinct tasks monthly — constitute 10% of all consumers. This contrasts sharply with mainstream AI users, who average roughly eight tasks per month and gravitate toward simpler activities like comparison shopping.

Non-adopters still represent 53% of the population and 72% of baby boomers. However, power users are both growing in number and deepening their reliance on AI. Their average monthly task count rose from 25 in September to 27 in December, with 75% reporting at least one year of AI usage.

Companies like Robinhood are racing to serve consumers who have moved past using AI to occasionally research a stock and toward incorporating it into regular financial routines.

Round-the-Clock Market Access

Separately, the platform is extending trading hours to offer continuous access for select U.S. equities, including weekends. The expansion of Robinhood 24 Hour Market, initially launched in 2023, now permits customers to trade hundreds of stocks and ETFs from Sunday at 8 p.m. ET through Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

Breaking news doesn't wait for an opening bell. With the upcoming launch of weekend trading, we're making sure our customers won't have to either, no matter what day it is.

Steve Quirk, the company's chief brokerage officer, emphasised that the extended hours ensure investors can respond to market-moving events regardless of the day.
